Mira’s 1st photoshoot

I’ll say that again .. we love newborn babies and love photographing them. They are so itty bitty and fragile with the cutest button noses and little pouts! They are the essence of innocence and purity 🙂

On a fine sunny, Seattle afternoon, we reached Shilpa and Krish’s house to take two week old Mira’s newborn shots. Her older son, Arjun, was most excited to be a part of the session! Quiet and shy at first, then curious and eventually turning into our helper for the day, he stole our hearts immediately! He, very sweetly introduced us to his new, younger sibling who he loves very much. Apparently he sings to her and calls her ‘Mini’ (From the Mini Mouse fame).

One look at Mira and we were transfixed and totally in love! She was so tiny and delicate that we thought she’d melt if we breathe close to her. Dressed in her cute pale pink tutu skirt and ginormous flower headband, she looked every bit like a princess. She was a perfect model and stayed calm and quiet through most of the shoot. She even paraded the cutest strawberry diapers for us! Not once did she make the session difficult on any of us (Shilpa is one lucky mama) and only woke up when we wanted to take the family pictures. She even threw us an occasional smile 🙂

Dressed in an off white sequenced dress, she sat pretty in her grandma’s lap, flanked by big brother Arjun, who only smiled to the longest ‘Chhhhheeeeessseeeeeee’ in the world before every picture! It wasn’t before long that we got mom and dad into the mix for a wonderful family picture in their gorgeous backyard. One could easily tell how loved Mira was! Of course, we didn’t say adieu before Arjun read us a story from his favorite story book and showed us his beloved ‘Simba’ lion stuffed toy.

We at Meraki Pictures would love to congratulate the new parents and thank them for a wonderful session that went off smoothly. A special shout out to Arjun who kept us entertained and was our cutest helper. We can’t wait to see Mira grow up in a beautiful, young woman …but perhaps not too soon. For now, she could enjoy Arjun’s stories 🙂
